Gr8 Thanksgiving and Black Friday

I sure hope everybody is having a gr8 Thanksgiving.
I'm having a quite day at home. I prepared a nice small dinner for myself.
I plan to have enough left overs for a few more meals. Then I'll nap alot.
I've been working hard all last week adding new designs to my stores to prepare for the gr8 Black Friday shopping. I know a lot of people will take this opportunity to shop online. I heard the stats that less people are going to be buying gifts this year. I plan to doing most of my shopping online or using gift cards. And I've picked a few items from my stores to give to some of my friends and family.
Well I sure hope you all have a gr8 shopping day and don't spend all of your money. Remember that books make a great gift. If you do buy books I've got some gr8 tote and messenger bags at my stores. Well I'm off to take a nap, I plan to get up early tomorrow and do my part to save the enconomy. Don't forget to be Thankful.

Unpacking

I'm still unpacking boxes from my recent move. I'm down sizing and giving away lots of items to goodwill. But the one thing I havent't parted with are my many books. Wow, I knew I had alot of books but I felt like I made a million trips upstairs with all those books. I can hardly wait to get settled so I can find time to sit in a comfortable chair and read a good book. Until then I'll just have to resign myself to reading my emails and updating my blog. I've got to hurry up and get this place with homey feeling since the holidays are approaching fast. I'm adding lots a new items to my online stores. Well I better get back to unpacking.

Back to Normal

Well the last three day weekend is over and unless you count Halloween we've got a little ways to go before we get another holiday. Things are back to normal and I'm hard at work on some new designs for the t-shirt stores. The holidays will be here soon and I've got to be ready for the early bird shoppers. I really need to work on some ideas for my Book Lovers for the holidays.

Today I had a gr8 day at the store, I made a big sale. A customer purchased 100 magnets with SAVE ENERGY on them. You see I'm not just into books, I'm concerned about other things like saving the world we live in and it's resources. I hope you are too. Here's a website I located that you can read about ways to conserve energy.http://www.ase.org/section/_audience/consumers

Well I've got to get back, I hope you're reading something interesting. If not you can always stop by my bookshelf and pick up a book.

Labor Day Weekend

Today was a gr8 day to catch up on all sorts of things.
I’m sure lots of people took advantage of this
Labor Day weekend by doing things around their house.
I stayed home because the heat still continues to be in the triple digits here. But I did get quit a bit done inside, I cleaned out a closet and got stuff ready for a yard sale.
I’ve been working on getting my online store fixed up since the holidays are only 3 months down the way.
We just got in this new "keepsake box" that is black lacquer exterior with a tile lid it has lining on the interior with side hinges it also come in a cherry finish. It is absolutely Gr8. It’s really a great gift idea.
I’m featuring it in my store right now as a “Secret” keepsake tile box. You can hide all sorts of things in it.
For instance, reading glasses, remote controls, coupons, cards, jewelry, tickets, important papers, pens, lot things.
I have lots of different designs decorating the
lids of these boxes. So drop by my store and take a
look around. Do a little early holiday shopping or pick up a birthday present for someone or get one for yourself. This would make a gr8 gift for a Book Lover.
Come visit my store on CafePress!

Have a gr8 week.

This Summer has been "HOT!

The Summer is almost over, the heat and humidity have been unreal
here and it's probaly not over yet. Hurricane season it back already, hardly gives you time to fix up things before it time to board up again.
My prayers really go out to the people who live in those area.
Where I live I just have to worry about the earth cracking in half.
I guess every place you live there is some type of weather to be worried about. Earlier this year we had a cold snap, that froze everything, wow that was totally unexpected.
We're so use to nearly perfect weather here that we mostly wear T-shirts and
jeans. I'm not quite sure where else I'd live.
I've been thinking about relocation, but the weather would be a big factor in where I'd moved. I don't like cold or a lot of rain,so that rules out a lot of states.
I'm all about sunshine and outdoors. Don't get me wrong I'm not a wildness Girl.
I still need the comforts of home and some place to plug in my computer.
I'm planning to get a laptop soon so I can be outside more.
Because I've discovered I do my best thinking when I'm out and about.
Like a few months ago I an idea came into my head while riding the bus.
I saw a girl with a very fancy T-shirt on, I figure it must have cost her over $20.00 ( I didn't ask).
But what was crazy was, inside my head I thought I was having a conversation with her T- shirt."I said, WOW! you sure look fancy and expensive", and the shirts reply,
was "I can't believe that someday I could be a dust rag."
I couldn't LOL or the people on the bus would have thought I was crazy.
Yes of course I know, anyone that's holding a conversation with a t-shirt is crazy, but I'm pretty sure the shirts not going to tell. He's too afraid of being turned into a dust rag.Isn't it funny where I ideas come from.
Well, I got to get back to work, haven't come up with any ideas for the back to school season yet, but I did get a few "HOT" Hip Hop
items finished. I'm in the middle of reading the 1 minute millionaire, everybody in the world has a ready read it, I'm always behind the crowd.
I've got an awfully lot irons in the fire these days,as if it wasn't hot enough.
Well I'm sure hoping for cooler weather soon, it's hard for me to think
when I'm hot an sticky. I hope you all have gr8 weather where you are.

Bye 4 now

Money Found in Book.

Now here's a reason to buy a book...

While playing with a thrift store book bought earlier in the day for 25 cents, Rhiannon uncovered $1,300 in cash stuck between the pages. Her baby sitter Sheila Laughridge said she only bought the book at Rhiannon's insistence and was surprised when the toddler found a brown paper bag full of $100s, $50s, $20s and $10s.
Laughridge took the money, which dated as far back as the 1960s, to a local bank, where she received only $300 in exchange because most of the bills were in pieces. The rest of the tattered money was sent to the U.S. treasury department.Thrift store book holds $1,300 in cash
Sat Feb 24, 3:21 PM ET
MCDONOUGH, Ga. - Rhiannon Barnes may be the luckiest 15-month-old ever. Or maybe her baby sitter is the fortunate one.

Hmmm... I've bought lots of books from thrift stores but I've never found more than an old bookmarker or a picture of someone. They were lucky.

Get ready for the next holiday.

Just dropped by here real quick to update my blog,
can't believe I still had hearts and flowers floating
around here. With another holiday fast approaching
I figured I better get in here and make a change.
The next holiday's basic color is green,
but I'm not really into that color scheme.
I'm really into the animal print these days
I love to wear animal prints and to decorate
with it, sometimes when I lay down on my sofa
I camoflauge, LOL.That could be dangerous,
someone could sit on me by accident.
I really love clothes.
Having an online T-shirt Shop helps me cure
my craving , a little. I can design what I want.
If you're getting dressed up for St. Patrick's Day.
Stop by my online T-shirt shop and check out my

"Don't Pinch Me"
design. I have it on Hats, T-shirts,
Mugs,Hoodies and lots more stuff.
It's funny that I'm always talking about Holiday
T-shirts, when in fact more people seem to like
my other designs like this one Eyelove2read.
I think reading is very important so I make designs
to encourage kids and others to read.

Well guess I better get back to the shop and work
on the next holiday design.

P.S. Message to the Family everybody is doing gr8

Hey Friends,
I hope you are all ready for the Cupid Flying bow and arrow shooting , candy and flowers routine that is about to converge on us in the next two days.
I guess you can tell from the heart with the lightining bolt in it, that I not your average hearts and flowers type of Girl. Not that I don't like the Holiday. It's just that I think your sweetheart should do this for you all the time not just one day out of the year. So, if you've got that going on in your life hang on to it. I think the mold has been broken.
I hope you all are prepared with you gifts, I tryed to give you a head up a few weeks ago. If you are still looking for something stop by my online store. Alot of my designs have hearts in them. I add the hearts for LOVE and the FUNNY sayings so people can LOL.
I just completed a design that I think is gr8.
I call it "Everythings Not Always Black and White"
I put the heart in there because I think with LOVE added everything looks different.
Have a Happy or UnHappy Valentine's Day

Not Enough hours in "My" day

Time Flies, there are just not enough hours in my day.

I know I promised to keep this blog current, but I've been busy working on new "Sayings" to put on my Tote bags and T-shirts in my online store. I don't know how some people do it, I think their working with a 48 hour clock in stead of 24. I just can't seem to get it all done in one day. I've read alot of those time management books and tried some of their suggestions. But at the end of the day my "things to do list" still has item left over, which means, I'm already be behind when I wake up.
I wish some of this stuff could get done while I'm sleeping.
I'm glad I finished my Unhappy Valentine's Day design last month.
I'm going to skip the next few holidays and start working on Easter.
Since I'm not an artist, I'll just need to come up with a few catchie saying to put on a tote bag for Easter. I just had a great thought, how about having an Easter Book Hunt. Each Child would get a Tote Bag and a Book list, they'd go to the Local Library and search for books. To make it difficult, they must do it without using the computer to look them up. Of course it would be timed, and the one with the most books at the end WINS!!! I'd rather seach for books, than eggs anyway.
Well I've got to get back to my list of things to do, it almost bedtime.
I checked out a book from the Library the other day and I hope I can read a few pages before I fall asleep.

Goodnite

Oprah's Book Club is back!

Hey Book Lovers,

Have you heard the news?
I read in the newspaper yesterday that Oprah's book club is coming back.
Since I'm all for reading, I was very excited to find out that the first book will be announced on this Friday's show.
I have collected a few of her past book recommendation and put them into,
my online bookstore. I wish I could say that I've read them all, but unfortunately, time just doesn't permit me to do so. As most book readers, I have a stack of books I plan to read, but it seems that new good books just keep coming out. When I read the news about the return of the Oprah Book Club, a funny thought came to my mind.
I started thinking how great it would be if I could write a best selling book that was read by Oprah and it got chosen for her book club. Of course, that was a day dreamed that only lasted a few moments then I came back to reality...
I'm sure you've noticed, that just about everyone that has been chosen for her list has done well. I sure wish I could be her "next big thing".
That's when I decided why not put that saying on a T-shirt it may not be a bestseller, but a few people may just see the humor in it. The T-shirt reads " I wanna B The Next Big THANG."
(Excuse the ebonics but, it gets the point across.)
So, here's my question, wouldn't you like to be the next "Big Thing?"

Homeschooling

I finally had an opportunity to read yesterday, not a book, the newspaper.

I read a few articles in my local Sunday paper.
I just start back with home delivery.
I found a very interesting article about Homeschooling.
My kids are all grown, but I do have a few grand kids in public schools.
My oldest Daughter has been contemplating the idea of homeschooling her two boys for the past few years. We have discussed the pros and cons of this issue many times. According to the article many parents started out teaching at home to insure that their children where being taught their Family values and beliefs.
With the growing amount of violence in the schools this has only increased the number of kids being home schooled.
The article stated that between 1999 and 2003 the percentage has rose from 1.4 to 1.8 which represented almost 900,000 children. WOW, that's a larger number than I ever imagined! They're still collecting data to see if this number will increase.
So that means a lot of kitchen tables have been turned into classrooms.
After reading the paper I started scanning my computer and found a E-book resource
for my Daughter to get books for the boys. The have story books and vocabulary lesson too. The article also mentioned there are more text books being developed each year for the home school community. This was all so fascinating to me, wish this opportunity existed when I was attending school. My main worry was about the social aspect of home schooling, but as I understand it in some homeschooling communities they have social activities for the kids to participate in.
The gr8 thing I found out in the article was there are Colleges now that are starting to accept home schooled kids, without a lot of bureaucratic red tape.
It's amazing what you can find out when you read...

Hey Friends,

Just thought I check on all my Blogger people...
I haven't heard a word from some of you since last year.

So, what's up with you these days?
What are you doing for 2007?
Did you make any new years resolutions?
Did you start a business or schooling?

I got up early today to check on my blogs and emails and to update my T-Shirt site. It seems that I'm always trying to get ready for another Holiday.

This year my resolutions are to diversify myself and be involved in a lot of different things and I promised myself I'd read more books.
I figure if I keep busy when one business is not doing good or has a slow season, I'll investing time in something else. I have lots of interests and I plan to put all of them to use this year. Sounds like a good plan, I'll see how it works.

I plan to do a lots of networking as well. I've got a few Girlfriends that have businesses and we plan to combine our efforts and see what we come up with this year. As they say two brains are better that none. Right!

Well, I've got to get back to my things to do list,
it's getting longer by the minute.

Valentine's day will be here before you know it, I've got to get ready.

Have a gr8 Day.

Eye Love 2 Read pin

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope you all had a gr8 new year. I stayed home and watched a movie, then I got up and glued myself to my computer as usual. I came up with a new design to put on pin displayed at the top of this blog. The Eye Love 2 read design may spark a conversation when worn. I have lots of Friends that are Book Lovers. This pin along with book would be a great gift idea. Nothing like starting off the New Year with a good book. I made a new years resolution to find more time to read. (Not just emails and blogs) We'll see. Have you read a good book lately? Well it's almost 3 a.m. again and I better get some sleep. Bye 4 Now

Odd News Article (Selling Snow on Ebay)

If I could stop laughing long enough I could ask, did you read the article in today's odd news about a Lady who was selling snow on EBAY. I knew they sold everything on there, but I never guessed someone would think to sell snow. You see, finding a product to start a business isn't as difficult as some may think. A product can be found anywhere, even your own front yard. LOL . I bet you're wondering how did she ship it. She avoided shipping, by having them pick it up. That's just to funny. In case you haven't had your quota of reading for today I've posted the article here. LOVELAND, Colo. - As if Colorado residents don't have enough snow to dig out from, one resident is offering more for a price on eBay. Starting bids were holding steady Friday at 99 cents for snow from "Blizzard I and Blizzard II" being offered by Mary Walker. She and husband, Jim, got the idea for selling snow after shoveling mounds from two storms a week apart that together dumped more than 4 feet along the Front Range.
"I figured eBay has ghosts and all sorts of weird stuff, so why not snow?" said Walker, who teaches business workshops on employee communications.
How much snow 99 cents or whatever the winning bid gets depends. Walker's auction notice suggests avoiding shipping and handling charges by stopping by their home and picking it up — in a dump truck.
Only 10 offerings of snow are available and the proceeds are earmarked for a used snowblower for Jim or a pair of shovels.
She says she doesn't really expect to find a buyer for their blizzard overstock.
"We just wanted to just give some folks a laugh," she said.

Definition of Kwanzaa

Here's some interesting detail about Kwanzaa an internet Friend sent me today.

DEFINITION OF KWANZAA Kwanzaa is a unique African American celebration with focus on the traditional African values of family, community responsibility, commerce, and self-improvement. Kwanzaa is neither political nor religious and despite some misconceptions, is not a substitute for Christmas. It is simply a time of reaffirming African-American people, their ancestors and culture. Kwanzaa, which means "first fruits of the harvest" in the African language Kiswahili, has gained tremendous acceptance. Since its founding in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, Kwanzaa has come to be observed by more than18 million people worldwide, as reported by the New York Times. When establishing Kwanzaa in 1966, Dr. Karenga included an additional "a" to the end of the spelling to reflect the difference between the African American celebration (kwanzaa) and the Motherland spelling (kwanza). Kwanzaa is based on the Nguzo Saba (seven guiding principles), one for each day of the observance, and is celebrated from December 26th to January 1st. Umoja (oo-MO-jah) Unity stresses the importance of togetherness for the family and the community, which is reflected in the African saying, "I am We," or "I am because We are."

Happy Holiday 2 U All

Hmmm It's Xmas Eve,

I've stuffed all my presents in bags and added some tissue, wrote my name on the attached cards and I'm done. Since I had some time left over I spent it working on this blog. Isn't that a strange think to be doing on Xmas Eve.
Well, I hope everybody out there stays safe and has a gr8 day. Merry Christmas!

I do My best thinking @ 3 a.m.

As you can see by my 2:am post, that I was up late working on my first posting.
Well I decided to go to bed about 3 a.m., but while I was sleeping I had a gr8 idea. (That's when I really do my best thinking). Since I already had some t-shirts and things on Cafepress.com, it would be a good idea to combine the two on this page. So I got up first thing this morning and came up with "I love turning pages " you can click on the Cafepress logo and check it out. Lot of gr8 gift ideas for the Book Lovers you might know. Books and Book bags make a gr8 gift anytime.
I had really hoped to be in the Holiday sprit by now, but no sign of it yet. I got to get off this computer today and go out there and deal with the crowds. Problem is I don't have a lot of money to spend. Next year I'm going to surf the net and look for a 99 cents store online and do my shopping early.
Well if I don't post again before xmas Here's wishing you all a HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
